Brazil have included Neymar in their 2026 World Cup squad, though an injury has cast doubt on his availability.

Now, fresh updates are coming to light about when he might actually return to action. As reported by Globo, the star attacker could be back in time for Brazil’s tournament opener. Earlier estimates had pointed to a return against Haiti, but there’s now growing optimism that he could feature even sooner—namely, the first group match against Morocco.

Should his rehabilitation go according to plan, Neymar should be fit and eligible for selection. Separately, we previously noted that Mikel Oyarzabal, the 29-year-old Spain international who plays for Real Sociedad, had to leave the pitch early due to an injury.
