Major blow for Mali ahead of their showdown with Tunisia in the round of 16 at CAN 2025.

Tough luck for the Eagles of Mali. The team will have to do without Gaoussou Diarra for the remainder of CAN 2025 in Morocco. The forward has left the Eagles’ training camp due to injury, as announced by the federation on Friday. The player picked up the injury on New Year's Eve.

Gaoussou Diarra is suffering from a sprained right ankle, and medical tests have confirmed that he will miss the rest of the tournament. Mali will face Tunisia in the round of 16 at CAN 2025 tomorrow.
