Celta Vigo: Joseph Aidoo bids farewell after six unforgettable years

The curtain has fallen on Joseph Aidoo's journey at Celta Vigo. The Ghanaian centre-back has officially announced his departure from the Spanish club, bringing to a close an emotional chapter after six seasons with the Galician side.

Joseph Aidoo leaves Celta having played 150 matches, scored four goals, and provided two assists. Arriving from KRC Genk in 2020, the Ghana international quickly established himself as a key figure in the squad thanks to his defensive solidity and commitment on the pitch.

The defender also recalled that his youngest daughter was born in Vigo, highlighting the deep bond that now connects his family to the city.

Aidoo made sure to thank the fans for their unwavering support throughout his journey.

"Not once did I feel alone. Your unconditional support, your chants, and your passion were a constant source of motivation every time I stepped onto the pitch."

He also expressed his gratitude to his teammates, the coaching staff, medical personnel, and all club employees, acknowledging their part in the memories he takes with him.

Although he has not yet revealed his next destination, Joseph Aidoo assured that Celta Vigo will always hold a special place in his heart.

"Now I have to take on a new challenge, but this club and this city will always have a very special place in my heart. I’ll keep cheering you on from afar. Thank you for everything."
