After FC Barcelona's defeat away to Paris Saint-Germain (4-2) on Tuesday evening in the Champions League, Gerard Martín is not giving in to panic.

Gerard Martín sought to put the Blaugrana's first defeat of the season into perspective. “In the end, all players sometimes play matches with an injury, and in a match like this, you do everything possible to play,” he explained.

Asked about Barcelona's performance, Gerard Martín then acknowledged that the Parisians had managed to make the difference in the decisive moments. “It was a very demanding match. Both teams had their strong spells because we both pressed high. When we managed to get around it, there was a lot of space for both teams. In the end, everything comes down to details and to our ability to convert our chances,” he explained.

“We are going to win the Clásico”

Gerard Martín mainly used his comments to send a strong message ahead of the Clásico against Real Madrid. “It will not affect us, because we played at a very high level and put in an excellent performance, apart from those small details that cost us a few goals. But we will hold our heads high, and we have the Clásico this weekend, which we are going to win,” he declared confidently.
