Despite opposition from several confederations, including UEFA, FIFA has confirmed it will push ahead with its plan to create FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE).

The project, spearheaded by Gianni Infantino, aims to set up a commercial company with 20% of its capital open to private investors. In an official statement, the organization led by Gianni Infantino declared its commitment to an "open and democratic consultation process". FIFA insists that "no one is selling football".

FIFA is also highlighting the financial benefits of this reform, estimating that each member association could receive an extra €17 million between 2027 and 2030 through its development program.

The 211 national federations have until September 19 to vote on the project. Without the backing of a majority, FIFA has stated that the FFE company will ultimately not be established.
