Last night, following Croatia's elimination, Luka Modric did not announce his decision regarding the next step in his career.

Knocked out with Croatia by Portugal (1-2) in the round of 16 at this 2026 World Cup, Luka Modric refused to confirm whether he had just played his final match.

"Today is not the day. You’ll know my decision soon," replied the Real Madrid legend after the match. Modric is currently a free agent as he has yet to extend his contract with AC Milan.
