France team: a date announced to pay tribute to Didier Deschamps
Former France manager Didier Deschamps is expected to be honoured by the French Football Federation.
The ceremony will not take place during this October international break. According to information from the Late Football Club on Canal+, a tribute to the former France manager is “in the works”. It is reportedly planned for 2027. However, no date has been set at this stage.
As a reminder, Didier Deschamps left his position last July after fourteen years and 185 matches in charge of France, notably winning the 2018 World Cup and the 2021 Nations League. The French federation has not planned anything for Deschamps during the matches against Italy on October 2 and Belgium on October 5 at the Stade de France.
The return of Les Bleus on home soil could have provided the first opportunity to celebrate the former manager, but attention will notably be focused on Zinédine Zidane’s return to the stadium. In addition, the federation currently has no official framework for organising tributes to the great figures of the France team.
