The head coach of the French national team, Didier Deschamps, spoke at a press conference scheduled on the eve of the 2026 World Cup quarter-final between France and Morocco.

Deschamps was asked about FIFA’s decision to appoint five Argentinian referees to officiate the match. The French manager insisted he saw no signs of any undue influence.

"No, while you might have your doubts, I take it as a matter of fact that appointments are made, and there’s nothing we can do about it. I trust the referees. I hope Mr. Tello will be as good as Letexier and his assistants. Of course, there are always decisions that can be debated, depending on which side you’re on. Our opponent is Morocco—I don’t see the referee as an adversary, quite the opposite," he stated.
