France vs Spain: Unai Simon has no fear of Les Bleus
After the Euro 2024 semi-final, which Spain won against France (2-1), the two teams meet again at the same stage of the competition, this time in the 2026 World Cup.
While Les Bleus boast a stronger squad on paper, toppling the reigning European champions will be no easy feat. That’s the warning issued by Spanish goalkeeper Unai Simon.
"We know that France is, obviously, a powerhouse in the world of football, but those of us who see things from the inside, who witness our training and matches every day, we have complete confidence in our style of play. Our mindset is simple: if everyone gives their best, no team can beat us. (...) France the favorite? I can also understand if people say Spain is the favorite. Both sides have their strengths. France has that firepower and those individual talents that can be lethal. Our strength is the group, the team. We are a side that knows how to play, and a team like that is very hard to beat," declared the La Roja keeper on the show El Partidazo de Cope.
