As part of their first pre-season outing, Paris Saint-Germain opened with a defeat on the pitch of Real Mallorca (0-3).

The club, relegated to the Spanish second division at the end of last season, managed to tame the reigning European champions. Missing several key players, PSG showed clear defensive weaknesses and a notable lack of physical sharpness. With many internationals absent after participating in the 2026 World Cup this summer, Luis Enrique started several youngsters in the opening lineup.

Mbaye, Ndjantou, Dro Fernandez, Boly, Lucea, and Koukaba joined Kvaratskhelia, Safonov, Zabarnyi, Mayulu, and Beraldo in the Parisian eleven. With this reshuffled squad, PSG started the match by controlling possession. However, the Parisians failed to pose any real threat.

After 20 minutes, Luvumbo broke away from Lucea's marking to open the scoring against Safonov (1-0, 22'). Soon after, PSG faltered and conceded a second goal just before halftime. Virgili capitalized on Parisian defensive lapses and a mistake by Zabarnyi—who failed to chip the ball over Darder—to beat Safonov with his left foot (2-0, 40').

Back from the locker room, PSG even conceded a third goal from a corner. Raillo took advantage of the Parisians’ passivity to head the ball into Chevalier’s net, who had replaced Safonov at halftime (3-0, 51'). It's a tough start for PSG, who will be back in action this Saturday against Manchester United.
