Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has reached a key milestone in negotiations with Trabzonspor after the Turkish club agreed to his request for an advance payment on his annual salary according to reports from 61 Saat on Tuesday.

Breakthrough following Besiktas collapse

Mohamed Salah became a free agent at the end of last season after completing his spell with Liverpool. The 34 year old winger was previously in talks with Besiktas but negotiations broke down after the Istanbul club deemed his financial requirements unrealistic.

Trabzonspor subsequently entered discussions to secure his signature. To bridge the remaining financial gap between both parties, the club's board agreed to meet Salah's request for an upfront installment of his yearly wages.

Private Jet prepared in Greece

According to Turkish outlet 61 Saat, the negotiations have now progressed into their final stages.

If no last minute obstacles arise, Trabzonspor management is scheduled to dispatch a private jet to Greece where Salah is currently located, to transport the Egyptian international to Trabzon to finalize the move and complete necessary administrative procedures.

Landing a marquee figure like Salah would represent one of the most high profile transfer coups in recent Turkish Super Lig history. Trabzonspor’s willingness to adjust their financial structure by granting an upfront salary payment underlines their determination to finalize the deal after Besiktas pulled out of the race.

For Salah, the move offers an immediate return to competitive European football as the main focal point of Trabzonspor's attack following his departure from Anfield.

What happens next?

Providing the remaining contract details are finalized without complications, Salah is expected to travel to Trabzon in the coming days to undergo medical examinations and sign his formal agreement with the club.
