Wilfried Singo is expected to return to action for Galatasaray soon. As the Ivorian defender’s health has raised several questions in recent weeks, club president Dursun Özbek provided details during a signing ceremony with a sponsor, as reported by the Turkish press.

Dursun Özbek reassures fans about Singo’s condition

Speaking about the situation of Wilfried Singo, Dursun Özbek ruled out the possibility of a serious injury for the Galatasaray defender.

Singo’s injury is not serious. It is a situation caused by the impact he received in training. He will be with us as soon as possible.

In recent weeks, several reports circulating in the press and on social media had mentioned a possible Achilles tendon rupture or a chronic injury.

Galatasaray deny the rumours

In response to these reports, Galatasaray also issued an official update on the condition of their player. The club said that Wilfried Singo has suffered a grade 3C muscle injury with bleeding in the upper posterior muscle group of his right thigh. Galatasaray, however, denied reports of an Achilles tendon rupture or a chronic illness.

The Ivorian defender’s treatment and rehabilitation process is continuing under the supervision of Galatasaray’s medical staff. The club says that the planned programme is proceeding as expected. Singo is expected to gradually return to team training once his treatment is complete.
