Thomas Partey was banned from entering Canada in the last few hours. This decision is linked to ongoing legal proceedings in the United Kingdom, where he is set to stand trial for rape charges in 2027. However, the BBC has just provided new insights into the case.

In fact, Partey was denied entry into Canada because he falsely declared to Canadian authorities that he had never been arrested or charged with any offense. "The applicant failed to disclose that he is facing multiple criminal charges for sexual assault in the United Kingdom," stated Canadian authorities, who refused the Ghanaian government's request to allow Partey temporary entry for this match.
