The legendary former goalkeeper of the Indomitable Lions, Joseph Antoine Bell, did not hold back in criticizing Samuel Eto’o, the president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

In a statement given to the French show After Foot RMC, the former captain of the Cameroon national team criticized the head of Cameroonian football.

I have a distant memory, when I was in school, I was taught to demonstrate things by laying out arguments before reaching a conclusion. Here, you're asking me for a conclusion without arguments, you're taking things backwards [...] You said earlier that FECAFOOT has problems with the ministry [MINSEP, ed.], but FECAFOOT has problems with the players' union, FECAFOOT has problems with referees, FECAFOOT has problems with its clubs, FECAFOOT has problems with CAF, FECAFOOT has problems with ONIES, FECAFOOT has problems with... You see, and I'm not the one making this up, so you can list them like that [...] Where I'm from, we say that when the same person has issues with many others, perhaps they should look at themselves. And here, to be clear, the person is the institution. I said, the federation has problems.

For Joseph Antoine Bell, the message is clear, the strongman of FECAFOOT should conduct self-criticism to ease tensions in Cameroonian football.

During the international break, coach Marc Brys threatened to quit in protest against the underhanded tactics he feels are being used against him.
