The Iranian national team will wrap up their training camp in Turkey with a clash against Mali. The match will be played behind closed doors, in line with the decision announced by the Iranian Football Federation.
Originally scheduled to take place in Tucson, Arizona, USA, Iran’s training camp was relocated to Turkey at the last minute.
During their stay in Antalya, Amir Ghalenoei’s squad played three friendlies. The Iranians suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nigeria before bouncing back with convincing wins over Costa Rica (5-0) and Gambia (3-1).
After this encounter with the Eagles of Mali, the Iranian delegation will head to Tijuana for their final preparations ahead of the World Cup kickoff.
Iran will begin their World Cup campaign on June 16 against New Zealand. Mehdi Taremi and his teammates will then face Belgium on June 21 in Los Angeles, before wrapping up the group stage against Egypt on June 27 in Seattle.
