The 2026 World Cup, hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, has now bid farewell to all African contenders. Morocco carried the continent's hopes furthest, but their journey came to a dramatic end on July 9, when France edged them out in a tense quarter-final clash.

Yet, even as the African teams packed their bags, a handful of players left their mark on the score sheets. While several stood out with impressive strikes, one name rose above the rest: Ismaila Sarr of Senegal. The Lions of Teranga's sharp-eyed forward delivered a clinical performance, netting four goals across just four appearances before his side fell in the round of 32. That tally placed him alone at the top—no other African player could match his haul.

For context, Morocco's Isamila Saibiri and Congo's Yoane Wissa both finished with three goals apiece, a respectable feat—but still a step behind Sarr's lethal consistency in front of goal.
