Le Havre deals a major shock to Raheem Sterling!
The former Chelsea and Manchester City player is currently without any official commitment and has been a free agent since leaving the blues.
The search for a new home isn't going as planned for Raheem Sterling. At 31 and without a club, the English winger is finding doors closing rather than opening. French journalist Sébastien Denis reports that Sterling's representatives floated his name to Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre — only to be met with a flat, emphatic rejection from the Normandy club's hierarchy.
Le Havre refuses to sign the Englishman
Le Havre's stance was blunt and unwavering. The club's representatives made it clear there was simply no room for him — the squad already boasts sufficient options in his position. And that wasn't the only closed door: another top-flight French club was also approached, only to deliver the same verdict.
The road to this point has been a winding one. Back in January 2026, Sterling and Chelsea parted ways by mutual consent, freeing him to join Feyenoord on a short-term arrangement the following month. He spent the latter half of the 2025/26 campaign plying his trade in the Dutch league — but since July 1, 2026, he has found himself without a club.
How the mighty have fallen. There was a time when Sterling was untouchable, racking up 82 caps for England and lifting the Premier League trophy four times in Manchester City colours.
