Manchester City case: Donnarumma is not worried
Gianluigi Donnarumma does not appear to be worried about the legal problems surrounding Manchester City. While the English club was found guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules and has appealed the decision, the Italian goalkeeper’s agent says his client remains calm.
Manchester City under pressure
Manchester City was found guilty by an independent commission of several serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules over a nine-season period. The club is notably accused of using fictitious contracts to inflate its revenue and artificially reduce its costs.
Manchester City has appealed the decision, and the final sanctions have not yet been determined. They could theoretically range from a fine to a heavy sporting penalty, or even expulsion from the Premier League. This situation could therefore have significant consequences for the club’s future, but Donnarumma is reportedly not concerned by these uncertainties.
“Gigio has received reassuring news”
Speaking to Radio Napoli Centrale, Enzo Raiola, the agent of Donnarumma, said that the situation had not changed the 27-year-old goalkeeper’s plans. “Gigio has received reassuring news from Manchester City.” According to his representative, the club spoke directly with Donnarumma to reassure him about the current situation. Enzo Raiola therefore believes that everyone remains calm despite the ongoing proceedings.
The Italian goalkeeper should therefore continue to focus on Manchester City’s upcoming fixtures, notably the matches against Liverpool and PSG, while the legal proceedings run their course.
