Mazraoui considering early retirement

Noussair Mazraoui may hang up his boots earlier than expected. The Moroccan defender for Manchester United has revealed he is considering ending his career after the 2026 World Cup.

At 28, the former Bayern Munich player wants to devote more time to his personal and religious goals. He especially hopes to memorize the Quran and dreams of becoming an imam at a mosque.

Despite these thoughts, Manchester United still counts on him. According to The Athletic, new manager Michael Carrick especially values his versatility, as well as that of Mason Mount.

The English club is therefore keen to keep the Atlas Lion, who is regarded as an important part of the squad. But Mazraoui may favor his spiritual ambitions when the time comes to choose the next step in his career.
