Due to a badly damaged pitch, LaLiga has decided to postpone Sunday's match between Celta Vigo and Osasuna to Thursday, August 27. This decision has sparked the fury of the visiting club, which wasted no time expressing its discontent through an official statement.

The match, part of the opening round of the Spanish Championship and originally set to pit Celta Vigo against Osasuna this Sunday, has been pushed back to Thursday, August 27. While LaLiga claims the decision was made "in coordination with both clubs", Osasuna is far from pleased. In a scathing statement released shortly after the announcement, the Spanish club voiced "its dissatisfaction" and denounced what it called "an unacceptable lack of respect."

The postponement was made official due to the poor state of the pitch, which had been affected by a fungus. All parties had agreed on the need to reschedule the fixture, though Osasuna criticized the late decision-making process. The club from Pamplona also announced it would fully refund all 153 supporters who had purchased tickets.

LaLiga nevertheless ignored the clubs' joint wish to play the match in September. Osasuna slammed what it called a "lack of foresight and professionalism", concluding, "this is not football, this is LaLiga."
