Ferran Torres has not returned to training with Barcelona, with the club’s permission, as his transfer to PSG nears completion.

Indeed, Ferran Torres was absent from the first training session back this Wednesday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan-Gamper. According to Marca, the Spanish striker personally requested permission from FC Barcelona to miss this session. The Catalan management granted his request, as his move to Paris Saint-Germain now appears close to being finalized.

A €50m transfer in its final stages

Negotiations between the two clubs are reportedly very advanced. The deal could be closed for around €50 million, with several additional bonuses linked to both individual and team performances.

Ferran Torres has already agreed to sign a five-year contract with PSG. Several media outlets reported as early as June Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in the Spanish international. Just a few weeks later, Barça set his price at €50 million.

Luis Enrique is eager to take advantage of his versatility, as Torres can play on either wing or as a center forward. His arrival would significantly intensify competition in PSG’s attacking ranks in Ligue 1.

Ferran Torres coming off his best season

During the 2025-2026 campaign, Ferran Torres played 49 matches in all competitions for Barça. The Spaniard netted 21 goals and provided three assists.

In LaLiga, the forward made 33 appearances, 23 of them as a starter, scoring 16 goals and delivering two assists. He finished as Barcelona’s top scorer in the league, despite fierce competition in attack.

The Spanish hero of the world final

Ferran Torres also left his mark on the 2026 World Cup. Coming off the bench in the final against Argentina, he scored the only goal of the match in the 106th minute, securing Spain’s second world title.

Just three weeks after that historic moment, the former Valencia and Manchester City man could now be set to open a new chapter of his career at PSG.
