Real Madrid: Eduardo Camavinga has made his decision!

Despite a convincing preseason, Eduardo Camavinga remains at risk of leaving if Real Madrid receives a significant offer this summer.

Mourinho still needs to trim his squad

José Mourinho wants to work with 20 available players, plus those sidelined with long-term injuries. According to AS, the Real Madrid roster currently features 26 players, meaning three must still depart. Camavinga, who has impressed with his preparation and dedication in training, could be sold if a substantial offer comes in. However, no significant proposals have been received so far.

A grueling 2025-2026 season ahead

Last season was turbulent. Several injuries kept the Frenchman out of 11 matches. In LaLiga, he played 29 games, but started only 16, scoring once and providing no assists. Coming on in Munich, he received a second yellow card in the 86th minute, just before Bayern struck twice. His controversial sending-off, followed by European elimination, drew harsh criticism and whistles from the Bernabéu crowd.

Missed World Cup, place under threat

This inconsistent campaign also cost him a spot at the 2026 World Cup. Didier Deschamps left him out of the 26-man France squad, a snub Camavinga publicly addressed. Eager to stay in Madrid, the midfielder now faces even tougher competition with the arrival of Bernardo Silva and the presence of Tchouaméni, Valverde, Bellingham, and Güler. His starting role appears increasingly at risk.

Manchester United contacted his camp

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United reached out to Camavinga's agents last month. The English club, however, learned that the midfielder wants to stay at Madrid and fight for his place. Dropping their pursuit of Rodri has only strengthened his resolve. Under contract until 2029, Camavinga is now focused on convincing Mourinho to keep him.
