Real Madrid: Endrick still in shock after comeback against Roma
On the bench at kickoff of the Champions League clash between Roma and Real Madrid, Endrick eventually handed the victory to the Madrid side on a silver platter.
On Wednesday evening, Real Madrid were trailing Roma 3-1 until the 83rd minute. Los Blancos eventually turned the game around to beat Roma (4-3) after an utterly crazy finish. This match, played on the second matchday of the Champions League, will be remembered for a long time.
"I was talking to God on the bench"
Having scored the equaliser to make it 3-3, Endrick took his time to speak at the end of the match. "I'm still feeling the emotion of the match, and it's a little difficult. I was on the bench talking to God and when I turned around, they were calling me. I continued talking to God; I didn't think I was going to come on so early. I want to help my team, as well as the coach, and the most important thing is for Real Madrid to win. If I don't manage to do that, I'll be the first to leave. Being at Real Madrid is difficult, and I will fight for it every day. (...) Coming on? It was difficult because I was with José Mourinho. I lowered my head and when I raised it, Donyell Malen had just scored another goal. But we are Real Madrid, we are going to fight in every match, whatever happens. That's what we did, and we will continue to fight," the Brazilian player told Movistar+.
