Real Madrid remains in contact with Erling Haaland's camp
Erling Haaland’s future could become one of the major stories of the next transfer window. Under contract with Manchester City until 2034, the Norwegian striker has attracted the attention of several major European clubs, while the financial case involving the Citizens is creating uncertainty around their sporting future.
Real Madrid remains attentive to the Haaland situation
According to Spanish daily El Mundo, Real Madrid has an excellent relationship with Erling Haaland’s agents and family. The club is continuing to stay in contact with his entourage and is closely monitoring developments at Manchester City. Los Merengues had already expressed their interest in the Norwegian when he was playing for Borussia Dortmund. The striker ultimately chose to join Manchester City in the summer of 2022.
Since then, speculation about a possible move to Spain has never completely gone away. Real Madrid could notably reconsider this possibility depending on the consequences of the proceedings against the English club.
Barcelona, Arsenal and PSG also keeping watch
According to El Mundo, Barcelona, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the Norwegian goalscorer’s situation. These clubs could position themselves if circumstances opened the door to a transfer. Manchester City was found guilty of 114 of the 115 financial breaches examined by an independent commission of the Premier League. The club is contesting the decision and has launched an appeal. The final sanctions are not yet known.
This uncertainty is fueling rumors concerning several key players in the squad, but it does not mean that Haaland’s departure has been decided. The outcome will therefore depend as much on the player’s wishes as on the result of the proceedings against the English club. In the meantime, Real Madrid and the other suitors remain focused on monitoring the situation rather than pursuing an imminent transfer.
