Spain: Fermin Lopez ruled out of the 2026 World Cup

A major blow for Fermin Lopez. The young FC Barcelona talent will miss the 2026 World Cup.

Injured against Real Betis (3-1) this Sunday in La Liga, Fermin Lopez has suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot, according to a statement from Barça on Monday. Set to undergo surgery soon, the Spanish international is therefore ruled out for the 2026 World Cup.

A terrible blow for Lopez and Spain manager Luis de la Fuente.
