Spain: Luis de la Fuente shares his feelings after the 2026 World Cup
Just four days after Spain's triumph in the 2026 World Cup final against Argentina (1-0, after extra time), La Roja's head coach Luis de la Fuente has once again opened up about his emotions.
The Spanish tactician spoke to AS newspaper. Luis de la Fuente revealed he experienced something "very close to happiness" this summer. "The atmosphere within the squad was fantastic, that's what happens when you're surrounded by good people. When Ferran scored, I felt something very close to pure joy. And when I lifted the trophy, I felt happy, fulfilled, and proud. And happy for the country," the Spanish coach declared.
After winning the Nations League in 2023, the Euro in 2024, and ultimately the 2026 World Cup, Luis de la Fuente has lifted every possible trophy as the manager of a European national team. All that's left is the potential Finalissima, initially scheduled against Argentina last March but eventually postponed.
