Süper Lig: Mohamed Salah opens his account with Trabzonspor
The Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah has netted his first goal in his new colors against Başakşehir. The goal came in just his second match with the Turkish club.
Mohamed Salah has finally opened his goal tally with Trabzonspor. Starting against İstanbul Başakşehir, the Egyptian international capitalized on a mistake by the opposing goalkeeper to break the deadlock in the 10th minute and set his team on course in this Süper Lig clash.
Salah gets off the mark
It took just two matches for Salah to find the back of the net for Trabzonspor. After a poor clearance from the Başakşehir keeper, the 34-year-old forward was quick to pounce inside the box and made the most of the loose ball.
Salah collected the ball and fired it into the net, with the help of the post. The goal was then confirmed by VAR, giving Trabzonspor a 1-0 lead as early as the 10th minute.
A first goal after a mixed start
This goal marks the real beginning of Salah's adventure in Turkey. Having joined Trabzonspor this summer, the Egyptian made his debut for his new club in the previous match, before earning his first start against Başakşehir.
This first goal is a reward for his initial outings with the Turkish side and should also boost his confidence for the rest of the season. After being one of Liverpool's standout figures for years, Salah is now embracing a new league and a fresh challenge with Trabzonspor.
