Liverpool FC manager Andoni Iraola has openly confessed that the summer departure of club legend Mohamed Salah to Trabzonspor has created a massive gap in the squad that the club is desperately trying to fill before the transfer window closes.

The post-Salah era struggles

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard on TNT Sports on Friday evening, Iraola addressed the team's stuttering start to the new Premier League season.

The Spanish manager made no secret of the fact that losing Salah, who ended his glorious nine year stint at Anfield to sign a two year deal with the Turkish side, has severely impacted the team's attacking dynamic.

"Salah left and left us with a void that is difficult to fill and we must look to compensate for him in the current transfer window" Iraola admitted candidly.

The search for a successor

With the transfer deadline looming, finding a dynamic forward capable of matching Salah's immense output has become the absolute focus of the Liverpool boardroom.

"We hope to finish this file quickly, because replacing Salah is our highest priority in the current period.. He may be our main focus in the current transfer market" the manager added.
