After Savio, Tottenham are set to welcome Omar Marmoush. Having seen limited playing time during his second season at Manchester City, the Egyptian forward is hoping to regain a key role under Roberto De Zerbi.

The link between Tottenham and Manchester City continues to strengthen. Just a day after Savio's transfer was made official, Spurs have reached an agreement to sign Omar Marmoush. According to Sky Sports, the deal will take the form of a loan with a £60 million obligation to buy—about €70 million: £58 million guaranteed plus £12 million in bonuses. The Egyptian international is expected in London this Wednesday to undergo his medical exam.

Marmoush never truly found his place at City

Signed from Eintracht Frankfurt on January 23, 2025, after a sensational first half of the season in Germany, Marmoush was brought in to offer Pep Guardiola an extra attacking option. Upon arrival, however, he faced stiff competition from the likes of Erling Haaland and Julián Álvarez. Even after the Argentine's departure, the striker was unable to secure a consistent starting spot.

Still, his record remains respectable: 16 goals and 6 assists in 62 appearances across all competitions for the Citizens. The main issue was his lack of playing time in the 2025-2026 campaign: Marmoush started just eight Premier League matches, recording three goals and three assists.

A new opportunity under De Zerbi

At Tottenham, the 27-year-old is hoping to find the consistency that eluded him in Manchester. Capable of playing as a central striker, in a supporting role, or on the left wing, Marmoush will bring valuable versatility to Roberto De Zerbi's squad. His arrival further fuels an ambitious transfer window for Spurs, who have already been strengthened by the signings of Savio, Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke.

After first being linked with Tottenham, Marmoush is now just one step away from reclaiming a central role in a new project.
