A new step in Oumar Konaté’s career. At 19, the Ivorian striker is temporarily leaving AS Monaco to join Stade Lavallois, a French Ligue 2 club, on loan for the 2026-2027 season.

Having joined Monaco’s Academy in the summer of 2025, the young centre-forward is under contract with the Principality club until June 2030. This loan represents an opportunity for him to continue his development and take another step forward in his young career.

Oumar Konaté gradually established himself within the Monaco organisation through his performances with the Elite Group. He notably took part in the Premier League International Cup and the Youth League, contributing to his team’s victories over Bodø/Glimt, Pafos and Galatasaray.

His performances earned him a place in the first-team squad during pre-season. The Ivorian striker thus featured in several friendly matches, notably against AS Saint-Priest, Cercle Bruges, Getafe, Liverpool and Coventry City.

This progress culminated in his professional debut in the Conference League qualifying play-offs against Górnik Zabrze, a match Monaco won 3-2. A few days later, he also made his Ligue 1 debut in Monaco’s victory over Le Havre (1-0).

By joining Stade Lavallois, Oumar Konaté will have the opportunity to continue his development in a demanding league. This spell in Ligue 2 could allow him to accumulate playing time, gain maturity and live up to the hopes placed in him.

Alongside his club career, the young striker represents the Ivory Coast U20 team. Last June, he notably contributed to the Elephants’ campaign, which ended with a third-place finish at the Maurice Revello Tournament.

With this loan, Oumar Konaté intends to continue his rise and take another step forward in his career. At Stade Lavallois, the Ivorian U20 international will now have the opportunity to put his potential at the service of his new team and continue learning the professional game.
