Tunisia are opening a new chapter with the 2027 AFCON qualifiers after a 2026 World Cup marked by results that fell well short of expectations.

The “ Carthage Eagles ” are in Group H alongside Uganda, Botswana and Libya. On the opening matchday, the Tunisian national team will host Uganda at the Hammadi Agrebi Olympic Stadium in Radès.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT. The match will be officiated by Mauritanian referee Abdel Aziz Bouh, assisted by compatriots Ibrahim Salem Hmade and Hamedine Diba.

Tunisia will return to action four days later for a second match in Radès against Botswana, scheduled for Monday, 28 September.

The fixture was initially supposed to be played in Botswana. The two federations, with the agreement of CAF, ultimately selected Tunisia as the venue for the match, while the return leg will take place in Botswana at a later date.

All six previous meetings between the two national teams have gone Tunisia’s way. The “ Carthage Eagles ” therefore have six wins, with no draws and no defeats.

The gap is also clear in terms of goals, with Tunisia scoring 17 to Uganda’s one.

The last meeting between the two teams took place on 23 December 2025, at the AFCON. Tunisia came out on top against Uganda (3-1).
