The confusion was only heightened by the publication—and subsequent removal—of a message on the FTF’s social networks announcing a "mutual agreement" to part ways with the Franco-Tunisian coach. Several media outlets, however, claim that his dismissal has already been decided, with Mondher Kebaier tipped to take over on an interim basis pending a final decision.

A long discussion with the players

Amid this climate of uncertainty, Sabri Lamouchi made it a point to address his squad. The head coach gathered the entire team for nearly an hour before the day’s training session. This meeting caused a delay to the start of practice.

According to several sources, Lamouchi did not take to the pitch afterward, leaving his assistants to run the scheduled drills.
