Al Ahly pulled one back against FC Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy. The Egyptian club made it 2-1 thanks to a goal from Ahmed Sayed Zizo in the second half.

In the 51st minute, Al Ahly’s winger capitalized on a brilliant pass from Algerian Moncef Bakrar to find himself one-on-one with Barcelona’s goalkeeper Joan García. Zizo showed nerves of steel and finished clinically to give his team hope.

FC Barcelona had taken the lead in the 30th minute through Hamza Abdelkarim, who was well set up by Raphinha. The Brazilian then doubled the advantage in the 44th minute by converting a penalty.

Al Ahly started the match with Mostafa Shobeir in goal. In defense, the Egyptian side lined up Karim Fouad, Hady Rady, Amr El Gazzar, and Mohamed Hany.

In midfield, Marwan Attia, Ahmed Nabil Kouka, and Zizo were named as starters. The attacking trio consisted of Taher Mohamed Taher, Soufiane Bendjedid, and Achraf Bencharki.
