FC Barcelona claimed victory over Al Ahly (2-1) on Wednesday night at Camp Nou in the Joan Gamper Trophy. Despite the defeat, the Egyptian club—coached by Moroccan manager Houcine Ammouta—delivered a convincing performance against the Catalan giants.

The match started at a relatively calm pace before Barcelona created the first real threat through Hamza Abdelkarim. Al Ahly also tried to respond, but Sufiane Benjdida’s one-on-one opportunity was called back for offside.

Barcelona eventually broke the deadlock in the 29th minute, courtesy of Hamza Abdelkarim. The Catalans then earned a penalty just before halftime, which Raphinha converted in the 45th minute, allowing Barça to head into the break with a two-goal cushion (2-0).

After the restart, Al Ahly quickly pulled one back. Ahmed Sayed Zizo capitalized on a one-on-one with goalkeeper Joan García to score for the Egyptians in the 51st minute, reigniting the contest.

Al Ahly’s players ramped up their attacking efforts in search of an equalizer, but Barcelona’s defense stood firm against the Egyptian onslaught. In stoppage time, Mohamed El Shenawy made a standout save from the penalty spot, keeping his side within touching distance.

Despite Al Ahly’s persistent pressure until the final whistle, Barcelona held on to their lead and ultimately secured a 2-1 win. With this victory, the Catalan club lifts the Joan Gamper Trophy.
