Starting XI breakdown: Abdelkarim leads the attack

Flick has fielded a strong and dynamic line up featuring a balance of established stars and rising academy talent for Barcelona's final pre season fixture ahead of the new campaign:

• Goalkeeper: Joan García
• Defenders: Jules Kounde, Eric García, Gerard Martín, Alejandro Balde
• Midfielders: Marc Bernal, Fermin Lopez, Xavi Espart
• Forwards: Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Hamza Abdelkarim

Decisive reunion on the big stage

The selection marks a significant vote of confidence in Abdelkarim who finished as Barcelona's pre season top scorer with three goals in four appearances.

The Egyptian prospect gets the nod as the central striker against his former club, flanked by world class creative outlets in Lamine Yamal and Raphinha. With Barcelona still evaluating their central attacking options ahead of the domestic opener, the fixture offers Abdelkarim a prime showcase to stake his claim for a permanent first-team role.
