The future of the Algerian national team head coach, Vladimir Petković (62), is taking a decisive turn. The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is aiming to finalize the extension of his contract in the coming weeks.

During the FAF's general assembly, held on Saturday at the National Army Circle in Beni Messous, the federation president, Walid Sadi, reported concrete progress regarding the Bosnian tactician's situation.

Sadi confirmed that negotiations with Petković are progressing positively, emphasizing that the Swiss coach has given his preliminary agreement to continue his journey with the Fennecs.

Speaking to the media, he declared: "Regarding the contract extension, the coach has given his agreement in principle."

He added: "We have prepared a first draft of the new contract, which has been sent to Petković's lawyer. We agree on all the details. Only the signing remains, which should take place in the coming weeks, Inshallah."
