Originally scheduled from March 17 to April 3, 2026, the 2026 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations has been rescheduled to take place from July 26 to August 16, 2026, in Morocco.

The opening match will see Algeria face Senegal on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 17:00 GMT at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat. The host nation will kick off its campaign later that evening against Kenya, at 20:00 GMT at Rabat’s Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

The first edition of the tournament was held in 1991, with matches played across several cities and no single host country, and was won by Nigeria. The Super Falcons also claimed the title in 1995, as well as in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024.

Equatorial Guinea lifted the trophy twice, in 2008 and 2012, while South Africa were crowned champions in 2022.

It should be noted that the 2020 edition could not be held due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
