According to Al Jazeera, Qatari national team player Assim Madibo has been given a five-match ban from the Qatari national team after his dangerous tackle on Ismael Kone, which resulted in a broken leg, during Qatar's loss to Canada in Group G last Thursday.
The official exclusion keeps the player out of the remainder of the current World Cup matches, including next Wednesday's match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
FIFA's disciplinary body said the suspension was due to the violent tackle by the Qatari player which caused Ismail Koné, a Canadian national team player, to suffer a broken tibia and fibula in his left leg.
