Former Japanese international Keisuke Honda believes in Japan's triumph at the 2026 World Cup.

In 2022 in Qatar, Japan's journey ended in the Round of 16 of the World Cup against Croatia (2-2, 1-3 on penalties). In 2026, Japan will try to do even better at the upcoming World Cup. For former Japanese international Keisuke Honda, the Samurai Blue can even aim for ultimate glory.

"They have the potential to finish at least among the top four at next year's World Cup, or even win the title," confessed the former attacking midfielder during the AVCJ Private Equity forum in Hong Kong. It should be noted that on Tuesday, the Japanese national team won a friendly against Bolivia (3-0) thanks to goals from Kamada (5'), Machino (72') and Nakamura (78').
