FIFA have appointed an all‑Argentine officiating team for the World Cup round of 32 clash between Algeria and Switzerland, scheduled for 3 July at BC Place in Vancouver.

Yael Falcón Pérez has been named as the referee for the match, which kicks off at 3 AM GMT. He will be assisted by compatriots Maximiliano Del Yesso and Facundo Rodríguez as first and second assistant referees respectively. Kevin Ortega and Michael Orue will serve as the fourth and fifth officials.

The appointment reflects FIFA’s continued use of officials from a range of confederations for key knockout matches. The game will be broadcast live around the world. For both teams, it is a match that could define their tournament. A win would see them progress, while defeat would end their World Cup run. The officials will have a crucial role in ensuring the game flows smoothly. Algeria and Switzerland will be hoping that the officiating does not become a talking point. The match is set to be a competitive encounter, with both sides determined to advance.
