The bracket for the 2026 World Cup quarter-finals is gradually taking shape as the first two fixtures of this stage have now been confirmed.
The Round of 16, which kicked off last Saturday, will continue through Tuesday with several decisive clashes.
Norway pulled off one of the biggest shocks of this edition by knocking out Brazil (2-1). Led by a dazzling Erling Haaland, who netted a brace, the Scandinavians secured their spot among the tournament’s elite eight.
England also booked their ticket to the quarter-finals after a spectacular victory over Mexico (3-2) in a thrilling late-night encounter from Sunday to Monday.
The first quarter-final will see Morocco take on France in a highly anticipated rematch of the 2022 World Cup semi-final, which was won by Les Bleus.
The third quarter-final will be determined on Monday following the Spain-Portugal and United States-Belgium fixtures.
The Round of 16 will wrap up on Tuesday with a blockbuster showdown between Egypt and reigning champions Argentina, followed by Switzerland facing Colombia. The winners of these two ties will battle for a spot in the last four.
