The 2026 World Cup could very well open a new chapter in Vozinha’s career. Outstanding in Cape Verde’s colors, the 40-year-old goalkeeper has now caught the attention of several Brazilian clubs.

Currently a free agent since the end of his contract with Chaves in Portugal, the Cape Verdean shot-stopper is making the most of the spotlight he gained during the tournament. His performances, especially against Argentina, did not go unnoticed by scouts. According to available information, three second-division Brazilian clubs have already inquired about his availability—a destination that greatly appeals to the veteran keeper.

Playing in Brazil would be a fantastic opportunity. The Brazilian fans have shown me so much affection. If it happens, I’ll be absolutely delighted.

The veteran, however, points out that no decision has been made yet. Open to various options, he says he wants to choose the project that will give him the best conditions to continue his career after a World Cup that has thrust him into the spotlight.
