On the eve of the decisive clash against Algeria, Ralf Rangnick delivered a no-nonsense press conference. Open respect for the Greens, a firm refusal of tactical draws, and a fiery critique of VAR: he left nothing unsaid.

With the crucial showdown against Algeria looming, Austria's head coach Ralf Rangnick didn't shy away from acknowledging the challenge ahead.

"When the draw was made, we knew this would be the toughest group of the tournament. We're fully aware that Algeria is a team that will push us to our limits and demand every ounce of effort on the pitch. But we've prepared extremely well," he stated right away.

Asked about the temptation of playing for a strategic draw, which would be enough for Austria to qualify, Rangnick was unequivocal:

When it comes to the Algerian squad, the German tactician showed a clear understanding of the Greens:
