2026 World Cup - Brazil: President Lula takes aim at Neymar
Although he was called up to play the 2026 World Cup with Brazil, Neymar is still injured and couldn't play against Morocco (1-1), and won't feature against Haiti either.
During a ceremony at a hospital in Belo Horizonte, Brazilian president Lula took a jab at the Seleção star. "Neymar isn't even playing. Neymar, it's the world's first national team call-up for remote work. He's a teleworking player," quipped the head of state.
It's worth remembering that during the last presidential elections in Brazil, Neymar Jr. openly supported far-right candidate Jair Bolsonaro, who was running against Lula, the Workers' Party figurehead.
