On Wednesday, England were rescued by a brilliant brace from Harry Kane. English football legend Wayne Rooney shared his thoughts on the team's performance.

England had a real scare against DR Congo (2-1) on Wednesday in the round of 32 at this 2026 World Cup. The Three Lions clearly underestimated their opponents—at least, that's Wayne Rooney's view.

"If it were France, Spain or Argentina, for example, you wouldn't see those gaps in midfield. They're playing with a bit of arrogance. You have to develop good habits. It's over the course of a tournament that you need to build those habits," the former striker told the BBC.
