Ivory Coast will face Ecuador on Monday, June 15, in their opening match of the 2026 World Cup.

The Elephants are set to play in their fourth World Cup, following previous appearances in 2006, 2010, and 2014.

The two-time African champions have a record of one win, one loss, and one draw in their opening matches at the tournament.

In 2006, the Ivorian squad lost to Argentina (1-2), before drawing (0-0) in 2010, and then clinched a 2-1 victory over Japan in 2014 thanks to goals from Wilfried Bony and Gervinho.

Alongside Ecuador, Ivory Coast will also go up against Germany (June 20) and Curaçao (June 25) in the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
