2026 World Cup: NFL furious with Gianni Infantino's FIFA

During the 2026 World Cup this summer, the installation of natural grass in several American stadiums sparked debate and is still making headlines across the United States.

According to L’Équipe, while these venues quickly reverted to artificial turf after the tournament, numerous NFL players condemned the decision. They are now demanding a permanent switch to natural grass fields.

Indeed, the players' union (NFLPA) believes that natural turf significantly reduces the risk of injury and points out that if these stadiums could be adapted for the 2026 World Cup, they could just as well be permanently converted for NFL use. Franchise owners, however, cite the high cost of maintaining natural grass.
