In Paraguay, Senator Celeste Amarilla has once again made headlines by openly supporting Spain, especially after La Roja’s victory over France in the semi-finals of this 2026 World Cup.

The senator explained that she wanted to pay tribute to what she considers her “homeland”. At the same time, she seized the opportunity to revisit her recent war of words with French forward Kylian Mbappé. “In the football history books, it will be remembered that Senator Celeste Amarilla psychologically destroyed the French national team,” she stated.
