Mohamed Salah has dispelled doubts about a possible withdrawal for the Round of 32 at the World Cup between Egypt and Australia. The match is scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2026, at 18:00 GMT.

After picking up a knock and being substituted against Iran (1-1) on June 27, the Egyptian winger has returned to training with his teammates. He already took part in the Monday and Tuesday training sessions, as confirmed by the Egyptian Football Federation.

The Pharaohs are set to play their first-ever Round of 32 after securing second place in their group behind Belgium, collecting 5 points (1 win, 2 draws).

The now former Liverpool player, who has yet to choose his club for next season, remains Egypt’s main threat, having already scored one goal and provided two assists in the tournament.

If Egypt overcomes the Australian challenge, they will face the winner between Argentina and Cape Verde on Tuesday, July 7, in the round of 16. It could set the stage for a thrilling showdown between King Salah and Leo Messi.
