Andrés Iniesta, it's official
A new chapter begins for Andrés Iniesta. Two years after hanging up his boots, the Spanish legend has been appointed head coach of Gulf United, a club competing in the United Arab Emirates.
At 42, the former midfield maestro is taking his first steps into coaching. The club made the announcement official through its communication channels. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Spanish football history, Iniesta made his mark at FC Barcelona and with the Spanish national team. His trophy cabinet includes a World Cup, two European Championships, and four Champions League titles.
With La Roja, he will forever be remembered for scoring the winning goal in the 2010 World Cup final against the Netherlands, delivering Spain's first ever world title. After spending the bulk of his career at Barcelona, he continued his journey in Japan with Vissel Kobe before finishing in the UAE with Emirates Club. Now, Iniesta is ready to take on his first challenge in the dugout.
